WAEC CONFIRMS ADELEKE WROTE HIS EXAMS IN 1981  The West African Examination Council, WAEC, Wednesday confirmed that the embattled Senator Ademola Adeleke who was accused of not having its certificate actually wrote his WAEC exams in 1981.  In a report published by Thecable, the council confirmed Adeleke’s participation in an affidavit deposed at an FCT high court in Bwari, Abuja, on Wednesday. She worked in Akwa Ibom Broadcasting Corporation (AKBC) and was a darling to teeming listeners of radio where she held sway as a goddess of the airwaves. She presented popular Ibibio program, "Sibaba Sibaba" on AKBC Radio. She retired from the employ of AKBC few years ago. September 1, 2018 The Director Relief, Niger State Emergency Management Agency, Garba Salisu, says 14 persons have so far died due to flooding in different part of the state. In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday in Minna, Mr Salisu said the agency had engaged the services of no fewer than 200 local divers in affected communities for rescue operations. He said the local divers would complement the efforts of agency rescue unit whenever the need arose. Mr Salisu also appealed to residents of the state to desist from building on waterways and to stop indiscriminate dumping of refuse to reduce the effect of flooding in the state. He also urged communities experiencing gully erosion to relocate whenever the threat of flood became high. “My major fear is that, most rains are usually at night when the people are sleeping, but the only way is to create environment for smooth flow of water,’’ he said.
