SEN. ETANG UMOYO, THE GIANT BIRD RETURNS HOME.

The former Senator Etang Edet Umoyo, from Esit-Eket local government has dumped the APC for PDP.

Umoyo, announced his defection official to join the PDP today at Esit-Eket local government council hall Uquo in Esit-Eket LGA.

Rt. Hon. Usoro Akpanuso said, “I am happy that our leader, Sen. Umoyo is coming back to the PDP, the house he joined other stakeholders of our party to build more than a decade ago. He is joining us today with his teeming supporters, he has come back to his house. He is teaming with us to take over power from the APC, Umoyo and his cohorts.

In his remark, Umoyo attributed parts of his decision to dump the APC to the failure of the party to abide by the principle of equity and justice, which he said, the founding fathers of Akwa Ibom State laid, with a view to enhancing the even social and economic development of all senatorial districts and federal constituencies in the state.

He further stated that “I am happy seeing all of you again. I would not be a passenger of a vehicle destined to crash. APC is destined to crash,"

"It is time one must stand up to be counted on the side of truth or falsehood. And I am exceedingly glad that all of us in this hall have decided to stand firm under the judgment of truth as far as 2019 governorship and other elections in Akwa Ibom are concerned ",

"On September 6, 1998, two days from today, many of us in this hall embraced with both hands a young and gentle baby at Ibom hall. That baby was the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which will be 20 years old in a few days from today. The mission of the party was to build a modern Democratic state founded on the cherished principle of of justice, equity, fairplay, popular participation and inclusiveness"

"If Sen. Akpabio went for two years,why would the case of Gov. Udom Emmanuel from Onna in Eket Federal constituency be different? The popular saying that what is good for the goose is good enough for the gander applies here",

The PDP state chairman Obong Paul Ekpo and others party eleders thank the defector and his supporters for returning to the party, Ekpo  urged them to be faithful and should take the activities of party Paramount.

POPULAR AKWA IBOM RADIO PRESENTER, MARGARET ESHIET DEAD Popular radio presenter, Madam Margaret Eshiet is dead. She worked in Akwa Ibom Broadcasting Corporation (AKBC) and was a darling to teeming listeners of radio where she held sway as a goddess of the airwaves. She presented popular Ibibio program, "Sibaba Sibaba" on AKBC Radio. She retired from the employ of AKBC few years ago. According to family sources who spoke to Connoisseur.com.ng, the veteran MC was sick for some time before she finally died. She will be greatly missed. May her soul RIP. ©Connoisseur. com.ng
