What will President Buhari tell Akwa Ibom people?

Image
*What will President Buhari tell Akwa Ibom people?* By Edidiong Udobia In the build up to the 2015 elections, I wrote an article wherein I asked, “what will President Goodluck Jonathan tell Akwa Ibom people?”. The article was premise on the fact that after over 4 years, Akwa Ibom had nothing tangible to show for the overwhelming support she gave to the Goodluck Jonathan administration. So, in looking into a very near future, I wondered what exactly the then president will tell the people of Akwa Ibom when he comes to seek our support for his reelection. True to my fears, when he visited the state to campaign, Goodluck Jonathan admitted that he did not do anything for Akwa Ibom and pleaded for forgiveness. History always has a way of repeating itself. I recalled that it was at the Nest of Champions that the former president was hosted during his reelection campaign in the state. Tomorrow, Friday, 28 December, 2018, President Buhari will be visiting the state to flag-off is reelection

FLAGOFF OF APC CAMPAIGN IN UYO: WILL AKS BOO MR PRESIDENT? President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, President and CinC of the armed forces federal Republic of Nigeria visits Akwa Ibom State on 28th December 2018 to flagoff his campaign for second term in office. Ordinarily this should have been seen as an honor to the state but rather it seems curious. To begin with no one I have interviewed could remember anytime Mr. President visited Akwa Ibom for any reason during his first 3 and half years in office. The only time the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo visited was to commission the Syringe Factory at Onna, an initiative of the Udom’s administration. No one could point at any item or developmental project or any structure for that matter in the state today which represents the President’s interest in the state. More curious is when you consider that both the Minister for Budget Sen Udo Udoma (who oversees every project budgeted for in the country), the SA to the President on NASS ma
