2019 : EKET FEDERAL HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE ASPIRANT CONSULTS PDP PARTY OFFICIALS IN EKET LGA.

FEDERAL House of Assembly hopeful for Eket Federal constituency Hon. Bassey Akpan Willie on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), meet with elders and leaders of the party at the party office in Eket-oron Road in Eket LGA with a promise to raise the youths of Eket through his empowerment program if elected as member representing the area.

Willie, spoke during the consultation,  which had prominent leaders and stakeholders of the party in the area, the aspirant said that he had come to realize the avaricious tendency of politicians in the state that had adversely affected the lives of the people.

Hon Kufre Sam, Senior Legislative Aide to Rt Hon David Lawrence (Member representing Eket State Constituency at AKHA ) in his response on behalf of the campaign team Bassey Willie Support Network during the consultation, expressed admiration for the personality of the Federal House of Assembly hopeful, stated that they would do their best to support his political aspiration come 2019.

"...since our incumbent has no major project begging for completion, there exist no reason for her return to the Federal House of Representatives..." Sam said.

Willie is highly experience as a politician. He is one of the people who have a lot of experience which is basically lacking presently as the incumbent does not have the capacity. To that extent we have learnt a lot from him; he is very calm and he listens before he talks.

Barr (Hon) Akaninyene Idem, Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State on Project monitoring during the consultation said  "for equity, Fairness, Justice and balance within ONNA polity let the Oniong political bloc be allowed to field an effective, trusted and erudite one time State House of Assembly Member in the person of Hon (Prince) Bassey Akpan Willie...the success of the party at the polls is anchored on the equitable distribution of political offices not only in Onna but across the entire State".

According to Hon (Prince) Bassey Akpan Willie, House of Representative hopeful for Eket Federal Constituency in speech said "I'm also optimistic that my stay as House of Representative Member representing Eket Federal Constituency there shall be better revelation of greater goodies from the office of House of Representatives, the welfare of the electorates shall be paramount."

Obong Iwaad Emmanuel Mbong, Chapter Chairman PDP Eket LGA in his responses made known to the people that Bassey Willie is a rare Politician because despite leaving office about eleven years ago he is still empowering people and superintending over a viable business empire.

Hon Jephthah Sambo, Supervisor for Education ONNA Executive Council and the campaign manager Bassey Willie group, Redemption Team 2019 In his reaction, thanked the group for putting the consultation together in a very coordinated manner and in the shortest possible time, noting that lawmaking is the primary responsibilities of legislators, whilst attracting projects to the area is an added responsibility. In his words, “he is not going to be a representative to bring and share KEKE NAPEP, fairly used cars once a year, I am certain he is not going to be a sleeping legislator.

Furthermore, Hon. Bassey Willie promised he will ensure peace and togetherness in the region if elected into office, he also promised to be involved in senatorial engagements twice a year, amongst other things.

Speaking further, the party officials urged Hon. Bassey Willie supporters to make their campaigns issue based and shun campaigns of calumny as everyone in the region are brothers and members of one family.
