BREAKING;  GALE OF DEFECTION HIT APC, AS OVER 100 WOMEN DUMP APC IN ESIT EKET LGA.

The woman leader in ward 8 in Esit Eket local government area of All Progressive Congress(APC), has defected to Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).

Mrs Ruth Asuquo Edem who recently defected from the APC to join the People Democratic Party( PDP) in  Esit Eket during her detection which took place at  the home residence of the Executive Chairman Hon. Iniobong Robson in Ebeekpi Esit Eket LGA together with over 100  other women said, APC lacks internal democracy. According her, "APC lacks internal democracy and has no respect for dedicated members, who worked hard for the party".

She added that she lost faith in the party having been seen the way the party lack rebirth for Nigerians welfare/ economy and internal democracy to help build the nation.

Mrs Edem said, "APC has thrown away all its hard-working members and leaders in both the state and in national, insisting that she has strongly believed that the APC structure as collapse in Esit Eket LGA and have seen from a clear view that the People Democratic Party (PDP), with the party's credibility vividly will achieve success in the upcoming elections comes 2019.

Edem said "the party APC, has neither future nor plan for the people".

“I have come here with my women over 100 of them who were wallowing in ignorance dying out of envy and jealousy in APC.

“My conscience could not allow me to rest because each time I walk on the roads and other things the governor is doing, I am always ashamed of myself because I had no reason remaining in APC because it has no future.

“I am tired of being in APC and today I am here to tell Your Excellency that we are back and we shall remain with you to ensure that you are reelected as our governor.”

Furthermore, Mrs Edem said she decamped with over 100 women across the council to support the developmental agenda of governor Udom Emmanuel and to continue to work for the unity of Ebeekpi community and entire Esit Eket in general.

The wife of the Executive chairman Esit Eket LGA Deaconess Maria Theresa Robson , while receiving the former APC chieftain, expressed satisfaction that the defection of the Woman Leader was a clear indication that PDP is working to achieve victory in the forthcoming elections.

Mrs Robinson, who is a grassroots politician and mobiliser, said APC in Eist Eket Local Government Area, and Akwa Ibom State in general, is in political imbalance following the numerous defections and declaration for the party to PDP in the area.

The wife of the council Boss in her speech thanked God for making it a pleasant day and for the life of our dear Governor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel even in the time of predicament. She said, "the only way to eradicate this party called APC is to vote them out comes 2019.

"Comes 2019 PDP will not only win in Akwa Ibom state but from the national (Presidency), Mrs Robson said.

She thanked the political leader of Esit Eket Elder Benjamin Udobia for his leadership role in the area as well as her husband  Hon. Iniobong Robson the Executive chairman of the area and the women stakeholders as well for taking it serious to canvas for new membership for the party.

Thereafter, Mrs Robson urged the women to ensure that the decampees have registered and collect their PVC cards, which is their right and power of votes to support Gov. Emmanuel for second term comes 2019.

The supervisor in charge of women affair and social welfare / chapter coordinator committed women for UDOM 2019, Esit Eket LGA Obonganwan Grace B.Ekpo in conjunction with women stakeholders, ward coordinator's of committed women for UDOM 2019 and received the defectors led by Miss Ruth Edem from ward 8 into the ruling party in the state, PDP.

Obonganwan Grace Ekpo assured the defectors that PDP is the religion to belong and Udom Emmanuel is the answer. She described herself as "an able and capable woman leader," and urged the women to stand by the present government of Mr Udom Emmanuel .
